As the San Juan College Theatre department prepares for its fall production, James and the Giant Peach and a Black Box Theatre world premiere written for members of the Farmington Community, auditions for both productions will be held Friday, August 29, from 4 to 7 p.m., and Saturday, August 30, from noon to 3 p.m., in room 1401, the San Juan College Black Box Theatre.  No previous experience is necessary.

James and the Giant Peach runs November 13 – 23.  It is a magical children’s story that is sure to delight the whole family.  There are nine roles available, age and gender neutral.  One male or female child actor, between the ages of 8-12, is also needed to play the role of James.

A Black Box Theatre world premiere written for members of the Farmington community runs October 29 – November 1.  Guest artist and New York based playwright Peter Gil-Sheridan will be joining forces with San Juan College theatre to write an original work (world premiere) based on the theme of tradition.  Company members will devise an original play that speaks directly to the Farmington community, its rich cultural history and its imagined future.
